Rims

The RBW X  Raceface MTB Bomber comes ready to party with RaceFaces’s high end Arc 31mm Carbon Wunder-rim, with  a 31mm internal making it suited to all but the widest tyre needs; pop your favourite rubber in 2.4-2.8″ on and get ready to shred.  Ligthweight but sturdy the offset ARC Carbon has the stiffness, toughness, and width to dominate anything from XC + trail riding to All-Mountain bombing.

Hubs

The RyanBuildsWheels MTB Bombers come with a choice of hubs, our favourite being the brand-new Hope Pro5. UK-manufactured, the Pro5 is unbeatable in all conditions, super reliable and can be easily serviced. 108 POE as standard, e-bike ready Steel freehubs bring a sturdier 54 POE internal setup to the party.

We also offer Bitex hubs with 6-pawl freehub and TPI-sealed bearings throughout. They are weatherproofed for maximum durability and equipped with large flanges. Sturdy steel freehubs also available here as well as options for beefy steel axles for riders who hit hard.  I also offer Bitex’s boost hubs in a variety of colours AND centrelock options.  See the BLOG for more details!

DT Swiss’s legendary line of 350 and 240 EXP hubs need no introduction with updated models released in recent years making them even better than before.  The 350 offers one of the sturdiest Ratchet Drive internals out there at a great price and I’m FULLY behind the 240 EXP series of hubs being simply the best performance focused hub for their price point.

Spokes

Butted spokes are a great choice for performance and longevity at a lower cost. For light riders under 80kg or those with good technical ability, Sapim D-Light can offer weight savings, while Sapim Race is a good all-around choice.

Riders looking for high-performance wheels can go for Sapim CX Ray, which offers weight savings, fatigue life, and (mild!) aerodynamic benefits. Bladed spokes aren’t just for road cyclists, they can benefit riders of any discipline seeking better performance along with an insanely long fatigue life.

Nipples

Nipples come in a range of colours, including full stealth black, bright anodized colours, or custom-coloured highlights on either side of the valve to make these wheels uniquely yours.  All carbon wheelsets at RBW are built with an appropriate stainless steel nipple in between rim and nipple along with additional weatherproofing to fight against corrosion.
